SOCIALISTS WELCOME LOCAL ACTIVIST'S EURO SELECTION

29th March 2004 Scottish Socialist Party members in Fife are celebrating the selection of the party's candidate for the European Parliament Election in June. Felicity 'Fiz' Garvie from Scotlandwell was selected top of the SSP's list at their conference over the weekend. Mrs Garvie (49) is a founder member of the SSP and founded the branch in Glenrothes in 2000. Glenrothes & Levenmouth SSP chair Morag Balfour spoke of her delight at the news: "Fiz is a fantastic choice. Her experience of international politics and her passion for justice will be an asset to the people of Scotland if she is elected." Felicity Garvie currently works as parliamentary assistant to Tommy Sheridan and Rosie Kane. A languages graduate, she worked in Germany for nearly twenty years. She is married and has two sons, aged 15 and 19. |
