| Free School Meals (Scotland) Bill | Tommy Sheridan's Free School Meals Bill has the support of the Child Poverty Action Group and the Scottish Trades Union Council Women's Committee and UNISON. | Anti-Nuclear Demonstrations | Trident is the U.K.'s
nuclear weapon system. The taxpayer coughs up £1500
million every year to maintain Trident. Nuclear weapons
were declared generally illegal by the International
Court of Justice on 8th July 1996 due to their inability
to distinguish between military targets and civilians. The SSP work closely with Trident ploughshares and Scottish CND carrying out non-violent direct action at Faslane |
| Court Appearances | Trident Ploughshares' direct

country has led to around 1,700 arrests - most of them

| Drugs | In 2000, the UK Police
arrested 100,000 people for offences relating to cannabis.
By far the majority of these arrests were for possession.
Cannabis is a relatively harmless drug and it seems
likely that the UK Government will decriminalise it soon. The plight of heroin addicts and the victims of those who have turned to crime to feed their habits would be greatly alleviated were pharmaceutical heroin to be made available on prescription. |
